To be creative, we need to work hard and hard and hard, not just the talent that had given. If you have the talent, but you are lazy. You cant be creative and will not achieve anything. A lot of people said that they are not creative, but it is wrong. Everyone can be creative, what we need is just practice. Creativity is something that we could learn, the more we learn, the more we practice it in daily life, the more creative we will be.
----------------------- Mozart is a creative person. But he wont achieve anything if he did not work hard. ------------------
Besides that, creative ideas are mostly not actually a NEW idea. Those ideas can be some old idea or concept that combine together and then produce a better result. The creative act is not an act of creation in the sense of the Old Testament. It does not create something out of nothing: it uncovers, selects, re-shuffles, combines, synthesizes already existing facts, ideas, faculties, skills. The more familiar the parts, the more striking the new whole.” Arthur Koestler. This explained that a "new" creative idea is actually based on those old ideas. The "new" idea is just something that sum up all other kinds of things and provide a sense of novelty.
- Creativity is an ability. Ability to think off something new base on those existing concept. And this ability can be learned.
- Creativity is an attitude. Attitude to accept changes and not just keep on thinking in the old way. Keep on thinking in the old way will not developed any improvement and create new way.
- Creativity is a process. Process to make up something new. A new idea need a long and hard process. It wont just pop up suddenly.
Creativity is the ability to think up and design new inventions, produce works of art, solve problems in new ways, or develop an idea based on an original, novel, or unconventional approach.
(quote from MLC Lesson 1 slide)
Creative idea happened in unexpected environment. Maybe this fish can think off some creative ideas inside this bulb, instead of in the aquarium...
